parisian artist nautil is a music student specialising in acoustics, signal processing, and informatics. his debut single, canopée, utilises analog synths, sampling and personal recordings to emphasize the geometrics of nature and music. on the a-side the lead track, canopée, is a cavernous, pulsing, low-frequency techno colossus destined to hypnotise dark warehouse spaces. on the reverse galdae is a propulsive tecnoid tweaker while mue is designed for head rolling after hours with mesmeric synth drones suspended over a brain melting sub-bass pulse.

g-23 makes his debut under the strange audio dreams moniker, coming through on italy s young art-aud label with a sweltering two-tracker backed by two heavy remixes. -error design 1- is a break-driven jam that never truly drops into pool of nastiness, leaving you yearning more, while -error design 2- strips the beats in favour of glitchy field recordings and percussion-driven drones. pan s nhk yx koyxen remixes the former into a wonky bit of brain dynamite, pushing those breaks in and out his melodic waves, cardopusher makes a deep techno roll out of the same original tune. all in all, a rather essential piece of gear.

love will remember pharaon de winter is said at the end of the record. pharaon de winter was a painter from north of france, who lived from the end of the xixth century to the beginning of the xxth century. today, pharaon de winter is reappearing again. its a band, but also the name of a song, which changed everything for his author. past leader of both bands toy fight and (please), maxime chamoux was playing since now a genre between north american rock of spoon and neutral milk hotel, and sophisticated british pop from prefab sprout or xtc. we find today in this new project songs navigating between french, for most part, and english. partners and friends since a long time, thomas pirot at the drums and raphael ankierman at the bass are playing alongside fx guéant-mata at the guitar. we also find mina tindle and her delicate voice appearing here and there. at last we dont forget the goldsmiths talent of canadian musician sandro perri whos joining the band, highly recommended by pitchfork magazine with his album impossible spaces in 2011.

the second release we do with french artists upwellings aka vincent raude who is professor of modern art at the academy of brest and has been recording music since 1996. his ep comprised two tracks. a-side >dubbin at the strobe< feat. michael zerang shows a nice interaction of drums and sounds developing a profound deep mood. drum parts were recorded in chicago by michael zerang, a real jazz legend who played a lot with peter brötzmann and joe mcphee, hamid drake. the flip side >lighthouse dub< has the aura of an place which is extremely isolated. the sound is at times extremely pulled back and melancholic and holds a sentiment that reminds us a bit of joy divisions >we are the young men<. the track undergoes a transformation beatwise when going more uptempo.

like any good techno producer, moscow electronic producer harry light envelops his stage image by a veil of mystery, preferring to communicate with his audience exclusively through the music. its more than enough in his case. harry lights music is artsy and ascetic. theres nothing superfluous and it sounds extremely good, the louder the better revealing its great potential. regarding harrys stylistic range, it extends from well recognized german techno and minimalistic deep house to dub and deep techno. it also can be easily read by the label names where harrys music being released. theres anton kubikovs iconic label pro-tez, highway records sub-label whats in the box and trendy young imprint electronica. important addition to this list will be a release on kiev vinyl label artreform. on this new release titled resistance harry light has managed to show all the best sides of his eclectic sound.

white asega co-owner jack dixon wrote new curtains after a friend who was coming wildly off the rails told him he was a good producer but his tunes were boring. the original version was really sparse and about 300bpm. when jack moved to new york the parts got lost, so he remade the track a dozen times. this was the version we all liked best, although jack never wants to hear it again in his life. it sounds tough and tropical. our friend troy gunner remixed it, and turned it into something so loud and slamming it will knock your teeth out. after telling jack to stop making boring music, mark kodiak spent two horrendous years working with jamie kodiak on a song they ve called taargus. it nearly destroyed their friendship forever but we think it was worth it. it has brutal weapon sounds, nasty snares and an incessant yo that has been described as annoying and unnecessary. the artist tom pounder has created a blinding video for it that contains brand new colours. french born bass genius bambounou stepped up to remix the track, taming the wild stems into a hypnotic earlymorning house stepper. it took us approximately 2000 exhausting facebook group chats, four crossatlantic flights and one divorce to get to this point. we hope you will enjoy this record for the rest of your lives. rip ken tulley.

* timber so* is definitely the melodic one with subtle sweeps and resonated percs running smoothly along a trippy voice. the warm bass will keep your feet warm.
* a fractured neck nock* is the dark one. synths are lurking behind the sick percussion. the guitar riff and a kids voice increase the mystery as the track progresses. this might seem dark and deep but its pumping as well.

klangscheiben records is proud to present its frst vinyl release of a brand new series, a various artists compilation entitled the fable. while some tales start with once upon a time, this one begins with the candid rhythms and guileless synergy of german duo metaboman and large ms taverne master. canadian minimal masterminds akufen and pheek each provide their own input: the formers weaving synth-driven jazzy storylines, the latters a trip through fragmented instrumentals and a min-tech narrative. klangscheiben label boss demas shows his fangs with a brooding slow burner permeated by skin-crawling microsounds, a flow picked up by montreal producer magnanimes psychomagic master. arks parable is awash with echoing vocal snippets and an addictive piano riff, melting into the strange sound of tom ellis, whose shotgun is at once stripped back and full of life. tomas jirku wraps up the release with one monkey, a glitchy, eccentric minimal piece that is as unpredictable as youd expect from the vancouver producer. the moral of the story? listen and fnd out.
